This luxurious 12th century fortress that has been completely restored, retaining its original impressive character and providing guests with optimum comfort and modern conveniences. Removed from the noise of Rome and Florence and the bustling tourism of Tuscany, at TodiCastle the soul of Italy has remained virtually untouched since the 12th-century. You are welcomed into a comfortably-appointed sitting room with open fireplace. The furniture is arranged for conversation, watching TV or reading. Off the sitting room is a terrace with a large stone al fresco dining table. From here are panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Adjoining the sitting room is a dining room seating 14 people. Next to the dining room is a fully equipped kitchen. A walkway leads to Orlando's Tower, with a sitting room, full bathroom and gallery/loft with queen size bed. From here, you can see the entire property, the pool, furnished terraces, sloping green lawns and lush gardens. Should you require an extra independent apartment within the Castle, the West Wing Apartment allows members of any group renting TodiCastle to have a degree of independence and privacy. The apartment is located just outside the main entrance to the Castle. It has its own front door, efficiency kitchen, a living room with open fireplace, satellite television and telephone, and is only rented together with the North Wing of TodiCastle. A short distance from the Castle is the dramatically sited 5 x 14 metre swimming pool. Its location provides a quiet, private area for sunning and bathing. There are changing facilities with pool towels and bathrobes, toilet facilities and a refrigerator for cold drinks. A loggia proving shade runs the length of the swimming pool. There is comfortable garden furniture and a large barbecue. Views from the swimming pool are of the classic Umbrian countryside. It is a tempting place to read or linger and store up your share of the Italian sunshine. TodiCastle is an ideal place to spend a vacation, but also very well suited for weddings as well as business meetings. Many of our guests have rented TodiCastle, not only for their wedding reception, but for the wedding ceremony as there is a small private family chapel. Also, within the Castle there is a medieval banqueting room for family gatherings, wine tastings and other feasts.
